Cutlass 24

Rare Cutlass 24 Cruiser/Racer

The Cutlass 24 was designed in the 1950's by naval architect Richard D. Carlson, from Shelter ISland, NY, to do well in the M.O.R.C. racing circuit. She is a reverse-sheer, fin-keeled sloop with a large cabin for her length, a very solid fiberglass hull, and was built in Spain in 1964. She is reputed to go to weather extremely well, and in her day won many races in Greater Long Island Sound. Paperwork includes original brochures and letters from the architect, and a detailed marine survey done in 1995. Brightwork and cabin interior are in need of refinishing, as are the non-skid decks. Original vinyl rubrail is cracked in places, is not very attractive, and deserves to be replaced with wood or a nicer rubrail system. Boat has been stored inside for the last four years or more. This boat is ready to sail as she is, and needs an owner who is in a position to get her back in the water and sailing. Am only selling due to recent decision to move overseas.
